"I can’t decide which I find scarier: religious fundamentalists, people who think the Bush administration deliberately blew up the Twin Towers, or anyone who actually enjoyed the Pirates of the Caribbean sequel after the first hour. Why aren’t conspiracy wackos trying to explain why that sea monster kept coming back to attack that pirate ship for what felt like at least 200 computer-generated battles? And isn’t there some shady international cabal behind the glut of animated films that feature cows, raccons, and bears behaving like frat boys, and shouting "Rock on!" once the farmers or hunters or vacationers have turned their backs?"

  3. “The Da Vinci Code suggests that Jesus was actually married to Mary Magdalene, and that they were very happy and had a child. It’s the Pretty Woman take on the New Testament, with a powerful guy falling for a hooker.”

  4. “Let’s face it, Jesus would have been the best husband of all time. He was gorgeous, he was incredibly compassionate, and he was a carpenter, so none of your cabinets would ever stick.”
